Everyone feels anxious from time to time. In fact, it is a very natural reaction to stressful situations that are part of our everyday lives such as; work, relationships, money problems, and world events.

When we feel anxious or fear, our bodies produce hormones like adrenalin and cortisone. These hormones help us deal with our stressful situations by increasing energy levels, and making the heart beat more quickly which allows us to react faster.

This natural process is normally corrected when the cause of the stress has gone away or been dealt with, but it can become a problem when the anxiety is extreme and lasts for an extended period. When anxiety disorders develop the anxiety can be debilitating and start to interfere with our daily lives, and even lead to depression.
